SPECIAL TASKS

There are tasks in the context of the exploration of reservoirs and abandoned mine management that are particularly challenging for drilling companies. H Anger’s Söhne has the appropriate solution for any of these special cases.

The most common method with regard to the exploration of reservoirs is wireline coring. However, there are special fields in which different drilling methods are used, such as:

Freeze shaft drilling

In case one encounters water-bearing, loose formation layers, the most secure way of drilling is to perform a freeze hole.

Rescue drilling

In case accidents happen in which humans come to harm due to human error or forces of nature, it is necessary to provide help with special care and know-how: here, drilling is employed for the supply and rescue of trapped people. Remarkably enough, H. Anger’s Söhne has been able to prove its competence in the field of drilling for the supply and rescue of miners after a mining disaster.

For instance a miner could be rescued by our company after the partial collapse of a pit in the municipality Lassing/Austria. He was rescued on the tenth day following the catastrophe via a well produced by Anger.

Wireline coring

Wireline coring plays an essential role in the exact exploration of mineral deposits. This method makes it possible to examine geological layers precisely.

H. Anger’s Söhne can look back on many years of experience in the planning and successful completion of various projects in this area. Wireline coring is used for a detailed exploration of reservoirs in order to obtain exact information about surrounding geological layers. In this, highest qualitative standards are fulfilled. The international standard is a core diameter of 100 mm. Our company, however, is capable of performing drilling with cores of different dimensions as well.

Wireline coring is furthermore used when:

  • Volatile material and material under pressure must be brought to the surface as part of the core
  • Preventer and overpressure technologies are employed in addition to the wireline coring
