Horizontal collector wells

20. December 2012

In 2012, H Anger’s Söhne entered into a new business field by adding the innovative technology of horizontal collector wells to its portfolio.

For more than a year now, horizontal collector wells make up a new branch of the range of services and activities offered by HAS.

Anger’s drilling machine, specially designed for this purpose, is the pride of Mr Mirko Huber, the head of department, who states:

“Thanks to our new horizontal drilling equipment, new standards in terms of environmental compatibility and occupational safety can be met, a step which was long awaited within our industry. Customers and those interested have given us exceptionally positive feedback.“

The drilling machine works in a vertical shaft and injects horizontal strings (laterals) into the ground with a pushing force of up to 1.500 kN. Thus, it can produce water from shallow aquifers. A peculiarity of this machine is that it is driven entirely by water hydraulics. Consequently, no oil-substances are used ensuring that sensitive ecosystems in the surroundings of aquifers are protected.

HAS has successfully carried out some initial projects with this self-developed horizontal drilling machine in Munich and Oberhausen. Thanks to this innovation, Anger takes another step into the future and remains at the forefront of progress.
